Business Developer
The MDS Group is seeking a dynamic Business Development Professional to join our team in Porto and Lisbon. In this role, you will drive growth in the insurance sector by identifying new opportunities, supporting the business development team, and strengthening client relationships. You will play a key role in expanding our market presence and delivering sustainable results for the organisation
Key Responsibilities
Identify, prospect, and acquire new clients and strategic markets to drive business growth
Design and implement short- and long-term commercial strategies aligned with company objectives
Represent the company at fairs, events, and networking opportunities to generate leads and uncover new business
Build and maintain strong relationships with potential and existing clients through regular meetings and visits
Provide technical-commercial support to the business development team and regional offices, ensuring effective solution implementation
Analyse market trends, competitive landscape, and emerging opportunities to inform strategy and optimise business performance
Monitor and enhance the company’s competitive position, proposing innovative actions for growth
Prepare market analyses, commercial performance reports, and strategic recommendations for management
About You
Degree in Management, Economics, Marketing, Commercial Management or related fields
Minium 5 years of experience in business development, sales, or consulting within the insurance or financial sector
Proven experience in fairs, events, and networking for lead generation and business growth
Knowledge of market analysis and commercial management tools
Strong knowledge of sales techniques, negotiation, market analysis, and insurance products
Results-oriented, flexible, and adaptable in a dynamic environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM systems
Fluent in Portuguese and English (mandatory)
